CNC Machining Service

CNC Machining Services from ProdEX

3Diligent ProdEX’s CNC machining service includes processes controlled by a computer program that instructs the equipment to make precise, three-dimensional cuts. Known as a method of subtractive manufacturing, this category contains a number of services such as turning, milling, lathing, boring, braiding, routing, and others.

CNC is the acronym for computer numerical control. More precise and faster than manual methods, ProdEX’s CNC machining service does not require personnel intervention or help once the machine begins running.

How Does Our CNC Machining Service Work?

Using CNC, cuts required to form the component are programmed into a computer. These numerical instructions guide the machine in a robotic way, determining tool placement by a series of instructions known as the “part program.”

Milling CNC Machining Services

This CNC machining service uses a rapidly turning blade to cut into a block of raw material. Milling is a fundamental CNC technology, capable of creating a wide variety of geometries and shapes with tight tolerances.

ProdEX offers multi-axis machines (up to 5-axis), allowing unique cuts to be made for your projects, so you can forgo any additional machining sessions needed in complex designs

Turning CNC Machining Service

3Diligent ProdEX provides turning CNC machining services in a variety of materials for its rapid-manufacturing offerings. In this process, a tool cuts a rotating workpiece to create circular or tubular shapes.

The machining carves round and circular-shaped metals or plastics into more precise, symmetrical geometries. Also referred to as lathing, this process performs its abrasion along a singular axis to quickly and effectively produce its shapes.

If you are interested in producing parts using the turning process, begin by creating an account within our ProdEX procurement service.

Electric Discharge Machining Service (EDM)

Electric-discharge machining (EDM) is also known as die sinking, or spark machining. In this process, workpieces are molded into shapes using an electrical spark. The current that is discharged between electrodes is used to remove the material.

As the space between two electrodes narrows, it intensifies and becomes stronger than the dielectric fluid above the workpiece. The current can then pass between the electrodes and both are used to remove material.

Routing CNC Machining Services

This CNC machining service is another one of the fundamental subtractive technologies, capable of creating a wide variety of geometries and shapes with tight tolerances.

Here, the numerical code governs a control arm that determines the axis and angle of insertion for the cutting tool. The tool, open to a variety of drill head options, then removes material from the workpiece.

Boring CNC Machining Services

ProdEX’s boring CNC machining service enlarges preexisting holes within a component. This feature may have been created by a drill, or during another digital manufacturing process, such as casting. The machine has a single cutting tool, or a “boring” head, that contains several to many cutting tools.

Braiding CNC Machining Services

ProdEX offers a braiding CNC machining service to create multiple component parts for your projects, typically ropes, cords, and mesh. This digital manufacturing technology is the process of using an automated machine system to interlace three or more strands of wire from a variety of material options to create the products.
