Material Jetting Process Overview
Material jetting is the process of a print head repeatedly jetting a thin layer of photosensitive resin and then curing it immediately with ultraviolet light. The print head contains multiple jets, which allow for variance in material properties such as hardness and opacity and, in some cases, full color. This is the only process able to produce a gradient of soft to hard rubber-like material or a gradient of a clear material. Though it can be more expensive, this process is great for many things such as highly accurate, color mock-ups, and mature prototypes.
