Turning Service from 3Diligent
3Diligent provides a turning service for a variety of materials as part of its rapid-manufacturing offerings. In this process, the material is cut with a tool while being rotated at changing speeds to create circular or tubular shapes.
Turning Service Overview
The turning service carves round and circular-shaped metals or plastics into more precise geometries with smooth, tight tolerances. Commonly referred to as lathing, this subtractive manufacturing technology can leverage symmetry along a singular axis to quickly and effectively produce its shapes. The main difference between turning and milling is turning requires the workpiece to rotate around a fixed lathe tool whereas milling is the opposite operation. Common applications include shafts and tubing.
