Further enhancements to Shopsight Connect Ads

Posted on Nov 16, 2020 by Cullen Hikene

A few weeks back we announced the very exciting news that we had launched an advertising module within our Shopsight application. I’m excited to let you all know that we’ve taken the next step in developing that set of tools for our manufacturing partners!

The key enhancement is the introduction of more nuanced advertising customization. In brief, you can now customize your ads to not simply be driven by process and material class.  Now you can also narrow the times your ads will display by the quantity of parts requested, the volume of a given part,  the bounding box of that part, and the size of an entire project.

So you can, for instance, advertise only for RFQs for Stainless Steel 3D Printing with a requested quantity over 100 total parts, and those parts don’t have a maximum dimension more than 12 inches.  And while you might issue a high bid for that, you can also run a general ad at a lower price for stainless steel parts that don’t meet all those restrictions.

In this way, suppliers oriented around production can only advertise for high-volume work. Suppliers who are experts at quick-turn, low-volume can only advertise for low-volume work. Both can ensure that the ads they issue are on projects they are suited to manufacturing.

In sum, these are huge advancements in giving suppliers a more cost-effective and higher ROI engine to generate business. Instead of paying for search engine clicks from individuals that may just be middle school students doing a research project rather than a viable customer, advertising in Shopsight Connect ensures that customers not only have tangible RFQs with CAD files, but also that the project they bring to you is one that is suited to your capabilities based on the ad customization you provide.

Please take a minute to watch this tutorial spelling out how to build ads within Shopsight Connect. As you will recall, we are currently offering $30 and free advertising credit for your first ads on the portal.  So be sure to sign up soon and start generating job opportunities within Connect!
