How to Create a ProdEX Connect Project

We offer digital-manufacturing services that include the world’s most cutting-edge technologies and materials. 3Diligent ProdEX is accessed through a secure portal that enables you to submit an RFQ for your project in order to receive a bid. The three-tiered service leverages our proprietary software and an extensive network of qualified manufacturers. Here we will walk you through ProdEX Connect, which enables you to access your own suppliers and ours and manage your own project.

ProdEX Connect Step by Step

ProdEX Connect is an extremely powerful service because it allows you to leverage the power of our software to streamline the process of getting custom manufacturing quotes from both your favorite suppliers AND invite qualified suppliers from the ProdEX network to quote on your program. In just a few clicks, take your project from idea to manufactured component.

  1. Create an RFQ by clicking the Add RFQ + icon in the left panel.

  1. Click ProdEX Connect in the center panel to choose this as the project type.

  1. Compleete the form to define your high-level RFQ requirements. If there are particular requirements of a supplier that govern whether they are eligible to do the work—such as quality certifications, nationality, ability to provide conformance paperwork—define those here. If there are other supplier requirements not captured by our data fields, you can upload governance documents on this page as well.

  1. Click on the Continue New Project Profile button to upload your CAD files. Remember to use STL, STEP, OBJ, or 3MF files. These are general file types that are translatable across multiple manufacturing platforms.  You should be able to export to these common file types from any design software.  TIP: when exporting, specify a resolution that similar to the resolution you require for your part. For example, if you have a spherical object, you want to export at a very high resolution to ensure your final part doesn’t look tesselated.
